Jesus answered and said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree but also if you say to this mountain, be removed and be cast into the sea, it will be done.” Matthew 21:21.
My dear friends during the month of April, I want to share with you a series of blogs under the theme “You give life to the Faith”. This is being promoted by a church in Puerto Rico. And, I said to myself “why not write about this topic to my friends who are in Puerto Rico and outside of Puerto Rico? This is a very special month, full of so many blessings for each one of us and at the same time, we support the mission of this church. What do you think if we start?
My friends, I want to tell you that we are responsible for maintaining the flame of active faith. Many people can talk to us about the subject, tell, write and even give us instructions on how we should do, but if we do not act on our faith, nothing will be worth it even if everything is read, spoken or heard. A key to activating faith is prayer or talking with God. The Bible says in Matthew 7: 7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” This is a word that we have to make it part of our vocabulary, memory, and heart.
When we are happy perhaps we say “I am very well I do not need to pray”, well yes, because it is time to give thanks and praise God for his feats in us. Psalm 16:11 says “… In your presence is the fullness of joy; …”, so we recognize that in God there is the fullness of joy. Therefore, we forget to pray for the simple fact that God has cared for and blessed us.
On the other hand, what happens when the storm arrives and the ship begins to sink? Then, it is time to ask, to seek, to call, and it is also when God opens the doors of heaven to bless you in a spectacular way. When you pray and have faith there is healing, liberation, and restoration in all facets of your life. Psalms 144: 11 says, “Rescue me and deliver me from the hand of foreigners, whose mouth speaks lying words, and whose right hand is a right hand of falsehood.” That’s where your faith begins to activate because your prayers come to God Almighty, who will free you from the hand of enemies. God reminds us in Matthew 7:25 that even if the rain descends, the flood comes and the wind blow, “if you ask anything in His name, He will do it” John 14:14. Well, dear friend, today take the first step to give life to your faith, which is obtained through prayer. Do not let the fire of faith go out.

Prayer: Open your heart
Lord Jesus, I am standing before your presence asking for your forgiveness. Forgive me because in the quiet and happy moments of my life I have forgotten that you are present in my life. And, many times I have not bent my soul, to thank you for your greatness in my life and my family. I recognize that when the storm arrives in my life I despair and I have forgotten to approach you to ask for your help and protection. Forgive me. Today, I come before your presence to ask you to help me keep the flame of faith burning, I ask it in your name Jesus, Amen.
Friendly Advice
My dear friends, I know that the worries of life often make us lose focus on God’s purpose in our lives. Take some time alone even if you are in the car, in the room or where you feel comfortable, just take time to talk to God and tell him how you are and what you need from him. But, remember that it is not only asking but, also give God at least one prayer of praise and gratitude. Strengthen your faith today so that when the storm, the floods, and the winds come to your house, it will not be torn down because it is founded on the rock, which is Jesus.
