The dawn

Before daybreak the next morning, Jesus got up and went out to an isolated place to pray. Mark 1:35

I was reading a book by Pastor Rafael Gutiérrez called La Gran Comisión ¿Qué pasó con la Gran Comisión? (The Great Commission, what happened to the great commission?) (2013), within its content, it called my attention related to a topic about prayer. Today, I want to share with you this part of the book on page 235:

“Early morning or dawn means the first time after getting up. In other words, if you get up at night, and sleep during the day, “early morning” for you is the time when you get up. Why is morning or dawn the best time? Because we are recognizing that God deserves first place in our day. Also because that is how we entrust God all day ahead. Hasn’t it happened to you that if you leave the prayer for another time, it is possible that that time never comes, and that other things that are always calling our attention? In our list of priorities, prayer must be first, as it is time to talk to God and put ourselves in his hands. At what time would I have to go to bed in order to get up at “dawn”, and thus form the habit of praying? “(Gutiérrez, 2013, p.235).

Prayer: Open your heart

Lord Jesus, I am in front of your presence asking for forgiveness if I have failed you. Today, I am recognizing that you are my God and that without you I cannot do all day ahead. I thank you because every morning you give me the opportunity to live and recognize that without you I am nothing and nothing can be done without your will. Amen.

Friendly advice

My dear friends, when you awake it does not costs us nothing to say “Thank you God for this opportunity of life and that you are directing my steps today, as well in my whole family.” This you can complement with the prayer of the Our Father (Matthew 6: 9-13):

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom comes, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
