What does red mean in your life?

The shield of the mighty is red, the warriors are clothed in scarlet, and the chariots of sparkling steel when they are in formation, and the cypress spears are brandished. Nahum 2: 3

After some difficult, dark, and gray times we rise again. We change those dark colors for vibrant colors and especially for the red known as “colorado” or vermilion. Red is a primary color, so it does not require a combination of other colors to form. Within the theory of color, it is considered warm. Red is a color that stimulates the appetite, transmits power, security, passion, energy, desire to succeed and above all a color that does not go unnoticed. Red … what is its meaning in your life? Lift your head

But you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high. Psalm 3:3.

I was reading a little bit about the mythology of the phoenix. By reading this mythology, I can compare the bird with a resilient person. Viktor Frankl, neuro-psychiatrist and founder of the logo-therapy said that “a traumatic experience is always negative; however, what happens from it depends on each person.” That is why it is in the hands of each person to get up again to come alive in the face of each adversity or otherwise collapse or victimize ourselves in the face of adversity. Continue reading “Lift your head”

Survive

That’s why I advise you to take food, because this is necessary to survive. Because not a single hair of the head of any of you will perish. Acts 27:34

Life is not about who wins, but about who survives the circumstances. I remember the biblical story of David (Book of 1 Samuel 16 through 1 Kings 2), who was anointed as a child to be the King of the people of Israel. But, that did not imply that he became King overnight. David fought with lions, fought with giants, was persecuted, fell in the lowest passions, and so many other things. But, what kept David on his feet was that each day of his life the love for his God, his faith, and the continuous forgiveness for his sins Continue reading “Survive”

In the cave (Part II)

And when Elijah heard it, he covered his face with his robe, and went out, and stood at the door of the cave. And behold, a voice came to him, saying, what are you doing here, Elijah? “1 Kings 19:13.

Continuing with the story of Elijah and Jezebel (read part I of the theme, In the cave), we see Elijah with fear to such a degree that he hide in a cave. Until Jehovah asks “What are you doing here, Elias?” Continue reading “In the cave (Part II)”

God does not show favoritism

34 Then Peter began to speak: “I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism, Acts 10:34.

In the world we live in, we are surrounded by a diversity of people. Also, we must remember that God made us in his image and likeness (Genesis 1:26). The world would be boring if we were all the same. It’s good that there are different races, cultures, and religious and political ideologies that makes us interesting in the presence of God. EMPOWERMENT

10 Do not fear, because I am with you; do not be dismayed, because I am your God that I make you effort; I will always help you, I will always support you with the right hand of my justice. Isaiah 41:10

Continuing with the theme of Resilience, empowerment is part of the process of a resilient. After searching and reading several definitions about empowering, I found this definition that is more aligned with the concept of resilience: Continue reading “EMPOWERMENT”

OVERCOMING THE PAST

9 Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven’, or to say, ‘Rise, take up your bed and walk’? 10 But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”—he said to the paralytic— 11 “I say to you, rise, pick up your bed, and go home.” St. Mark 2: 9-11

The last blog was under the theme Resilience, today I will write about Overcoming the Past, which is part of the process of a resilient. When you rise from the ashes, there is a process in your life. One of the processes is Continue reading “OVERCOMING THE PAST”

RESILIENCE

7 Do not be surprised that I told you: It is necessary for you to be born again. 8 The wind blows where it wants, and you hear its sound; but you do not know where it comes from, or where it goes: So, it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit. John 3:7-9

Recently, I was talking with one of my best friends and godmother, while we talked about how my life has been transformed and everything that I have lived, the word “resilience” came to her mind. Continue reading “RESILIENCE”
