Hug your parents

So, he got up and went to his father. “But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him. Luke 15:20

When we grow up, we separate ourselves from our families and the beings we love. Perhaps it was because work, marriage, business, and other things came that led us to move from the nest that once saw us grow up. Already the calls to our parents are weekly, monthly, or perhaps on holidays. Who knows what the excuse is for not having them around or for not making a call? Continue reading “Hug your parents”

True love

The LORD has appeared of old to me, saying: “Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness, I have drawn you”. Jeremiah 31:3.

I was reviewing my Facebook and I found a message that captivated my gaze, which I proceeded to read. A part of the message said: Continue reading “True love”

The hole

You who have made me see many anguish and afflictions, you will restore my life again; and you will bring me up again from the depths of the earth. Psalm 71:20.

Today, as I walked I watched as some employees dug a hole (concavity) to plant a tree. While watching how they made the hole, I observed how the driver of the machine dug the hole and the other person indicated the depth required by the hole to plant the tree. While continuing to observe the process, another driver brought the tree protecting the roots so that they would not be affected by the movement, although the tree had no leaves, because of the winter, I knew that soon the leaves would arrive with spring. When analyzing this process, I thought that our life is similar to a tree which depended on the depth of the hole to sustain itself with the climatic changes. Then, I was wondering, how deep will our hole be? Continue reading “The hole”

Between two boxes

If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. Romans 14: 8.

A few days ago I was watching television, and there was an announcement that struck me and led me to analyze the message from a perspective in our daily life. The announcement was that the human being is born and placed in a box and when we die also our body is placed in a box. But, what is in between these two boxes? Wau! I was really struck by the message, although it was a commercial one.

Don’t worry about anything

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Philippians 4:6  (NLT).

We live in a world full of worries, we feel anxious, we feel stressed and we live day by day with fears. We live dominated by worries. Worry is an emotion that often leads us to be non-productive as fear invades us. A fear that arises in advance to invade our thoughts and our energy to something that often does not happen. Therefore, we live many times worried about things or imagine events without this really happening. Have you felt this way? Also, there are moments that we are going through difficult situations in our lives that we worry about. Well, today I want to share with you the antidote for worry. HONOR OUR PARENTS

Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise; that it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth. Ephesians 6: 2-3 (KJV).

Our parents are beings that God used to procreate us and be who we are today. Some of us are adopted by extraordinary people, some of us have lost a parent or been raised by single parents. They took care of us in the first stages of our lives, laughed, suffered and even woke up with us in the midst of our illness. In addition, our parents have been friends and advisors. LOVE

If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. 1 Corinthians 13:3.

Love is a feeling of affection that leads to expressing emotions for one person towards another. All at one time we have loved. We have loved our father, mother, children, friends, boyfriends, girlfriends, and all those people who once we showed a deep and special love that has kept us together through time. Even after death, we maintain that feeling of love for the being that was once part of our lives. Love! How difficult is it to explain… Continue reading “LOVE”

LOVE exceeds all knowledge

And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. Ephesians 3:18 (NLT).

Today I want to share a passage of the Bible Ephesians 3:14-21 (New James Version), where Paul asks God to help us to understand the immense love of God, even thus our mind cannot understand the fullness of his love for humanity. Continue reading “LOVE exceeds all knowledge”

Do you love me…follow me

John 21:15-17 (Bible Reina Valera, 1960)

15 When they had eaten breakfast, Jesus asked Simon Peter, “Simon, son of John,[f] do you love me more than these?” “Yes, Lord,” he said to him, “you know that I love you.” “Feed my lambs,” he told him. 16 A second time he asked him, “Simon, son of John, do you love me? ”Yes, Lord,” he said to him, “you know that I love you.” “Shepherd my sheep,” he told him.17 He asked him the third time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?”

For a long time I have wondered, God, what is your purpose in me? There are so many circumstances that surround us that sometimes we lose the horizon of what God wants to do with us. Many times we seek in other places such as professional career, studies, works, arts, and even society tells us “search inside you because there is a talent hidden in you.” Yes, yes, we know, but which one? Continue reading “Do you love me…follow me”
