IN JAIL

Acts 16:25-26

25 But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. 26 Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed.

How many of us have relatives in prisons or have ever experienced being in jail? or  Do you feel that your life is a jail? Continue reading “IN JAIL”

HAVE NOTHING

Saint Luke 21: 1-4 (Bible Reina Valera, 1960)

He looked up and saw the rich putting their gifts into the treasury; 2 and he saw a poor widow put in two copper coins. 3 And he said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put in more than all of them; 4 for they all contributed out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all the living that she had.

Many times we get attached to material things, we cry because we lose our things, or we think that we do not have nothing. Continue reading “HAVE NOTHING”

“DIE” IN ORDER TO LIVE

John 11:11-15 (Bible Reina Valera, 1960)

11 After he had said this, he went on to tell them, “Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep; but I am going there to wake him up.”12 His disciples replied, “Lord, if he sleeps, he will get better.” 13 Jesus had been speaking of his death, but his disciples thought he meant natural sleep.14 So then he told them plainly, “Lazarus is dead, 15 and for your sake I am glad I was not there, so that you may believe. But let us go to him.”

Dying, it’s a reality that will touch us all. But, when we read the story of Lazarus, dying gives us the hope that at some point we will be resurrected. Reflecting on the death of Lazarus, God reveals to us that the old man/woman must die in order to live.

Die what? Continue reading ““DIE” IN ORDER TO LIVE”

What is in your basket?

Exodus 2:5 (Bible Reina Valera, 1960)

5 Then Pharaoh’s daughter went down to the Nile to bathe, and her attendants were walking along the riverbank. She saw the basket among the reeds and sent her female slave to get it.

We think many times that life is unfair and that the treatment is not the same for rich and poor. Are we wrong? Well, in this universe we have different planets, different people with their respective personalities and situations. Everyone of us has a basket full of many things in our lives. Only, only you know what you are carrying. Continue reading “What is in your basket?”

Do you still have no faith?

Mark 4:39-40

39 He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. 40 He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?”

Before starting this blog, my legs still trembled and still had my concerns. By having the concerns you know, what Iris Perez does, still questioned and asking God, why? Maybe, it was my mind? Oh, my God! Well, when God wants to, he wants to, look I’m telling you He is stubborn. Continue reading “Do you still have no faith?”

Do you love me…follow me

John 21:15-17 (Bible Reina Valera, 1960)

15 When they had eaten breakfast, Jesus asked Simon Peter, “Simon, son of John,[f] do you love me more than these?” “Yes, Lord,” he said to him, “you know that I love you.” “Feed my lambs,” he told him. 16 A second time he asked him, “Simon, son of John, do you love me? ”Yes, Lord,” he said to him, “you know that I love you.” “Shepherd my sheep,” he told him.17 He asked him the third time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?”

For a long time I have wondered, God, what is your purpose in me? There are so many circumstances that surround us that sometimes we lose the horizon of what God wants to do with us. Many times we seek in other places such as professional career, studies, works, arts, and even society tells us “search inside you because there is a talent hidden in you.” Yes, yes, we know, but which one? Continue reading “Do you love me…follow me”
