The fisherman

“Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” Mathew 4:19

Today there is much talk about the disciples in Jesus’ life, but who were the disciples of Jesus? They were fishermen and one of them was a tax collector. When we analyze the life of a fisherman we find that a fisherman was a person who  is a worker, early riser, strong, merchant, patient, bad smell, possibly consumed some type of alcohol to control his cold body, intense and violent character, explosive temper, given to the fight, do not fear the storm, little or no education, do not fear the circumstances, do not give up, Continue reading “The fisherman”

Decision

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. James 1: 5 (RVR1960).

Decision making is not easy, many times we carry so much pain and despair that we do not see a solution. In the bible there are several stories of decision making but,  today, I want to tell you about the story of King Solomon and the two women with their respective children (1 Kings 3: 16-28). The bible tells us about two women who lived under the same roof and both gave birth. One night, one of the women lay on top of her child and he died. Continue reading “Decision”

The Rainbow

13 I have placed my bow in the clouds, and it will be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth. Genesis 9:13

When the days are rainy, later on we see that the rainbow appears; we feel joy because it indicates that the rain has stopped and the sun will come out fully. Also, the rainbow leads us to remember the beautiful covenant that God made with Noah and his creation after the flood. The rainbow was created by God to remind us that He was not going to destroy the world with another flood, so it reminds us of a promise of His immense love, mercy and peace for humanity. Hard times

“Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love”  2 John 1: 3.

In this 21st century, where society has apparently emerged in high technology, world economy, medicine, education, laws that protect the individual, free expression, free expression of religious and political ideology, freedom of race and culture, and even Constitutions created for the welfare of man. And that today, we could walk with the freedom that our ancestors suffered to be today what we are. Continue reading “Hard times”

The Reflection of Light

12 Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world; he who follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life. John 8:12 (Reina-Valera 1960 (RVR1960))

How good it is to know that by allowing God to be your light, there is a new hope. When we have light in our lives, wonderful things happen. Within those wonderful things there is peace, love, faith, temperance, meekness, kindness, and goodness, which are some of the fruits of the spirit. Galatians 5: 22-23 (RVR 1960). The Light

I, the light, have come into the world, so that everyone who believes in me will not remain in darkness. John 12:46

Our God is like a ray of light. Sometimes we have found ourselves in the midst of darkness. So dark is our walk that sometimes we do not find the exit. We have lived situations where hope weakens and maybe even does not exist. Moreover, there are moments that in that darkness we observe a small strip of light, which comes from the other side. The Tree

He is like a tree planted besides flowing streamsthat bears its fruit in its season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers. Psalm 1:3

When contemplating a tree, we realize the shade it produces. We see that the tree refreshes us and that everyone who goes under its branches feels a good breeze that caresses us. We lie down under the tree, we have also climbed on its branches to rest. Moreover, even if it rains we refuge under the tree. Continue reading “The Tree”

How to Pray

6 But you, when you pray, go into your room, and close the door and pray to your Father who is unseen; and your Father who sees what is done secret, will reward you in public. Matthew 6: 6 (Reina Valera, 1960).

The vast majority of people have their particular way of praying or talking to God. There are moments that we do not have words or we are so tired that we forget to thank God for everything. Also, there are people who never taught them to pray. But, how good is our God who thought of everything. He knew that there would come a time in our lives that we would say, Lord teach me to pray and that is why he left us in writing a beautiful prayer that covers everything. You Worth Much More

26 Look at the birds of the air, they do not sow, nor reap, nor store away in barns; and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more than they? Matthew 6:26

Through a website, I read a message from a person that exposed a reality that has been happening in the labor system. When reading the article about unemployment and recruitment through computerized systems, I was identify with the words and like me and many people with a high level of education and work experience have been rejected by computer systems and sometimes even within the company Continue reading “You Worth Much More”
