The unexpected

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, says the Lord. Isaiah 55: 8

It is February 14, perhaps for many there were plans and for others perhaps not. But, this day there was an unexpected event and the day surprised us with a snowfall that had not occurred in the place I live for a long time. Perhaps the plans had to be canceled due to bad weather, for others they spent it alone, other people decided to enjoy the night with the family or another alternative that may have occurred to them at that time. “DIE” IN ORDER TO LIVE

John 11:11-15 (Bible Reina Valera, 1960)

11 After he had said this, he went on to tell them, “Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep; but I am going there to wake him up.”12 His disciples replied, “Lord, if he sleeps, he will get better.” 13 Jesus had been speaking of his death, but his disciples thought he meant natural sleep.14 So then he told them plainly, “Lazarus is dead, 15 and for your sake I am glad I was not there, so that you may believe. But let us go to him.”

Dying, it’s a reality that will touch us all. But, when we read the story of Lazarus, dying gives us the hope that at some point we will be resurrected. Reflecting on the death of Lazarus, God reveals to us that the old man/woman must die in order to live.
