So rend your heart, and not your garments; Return to the Lord your God, For He is gracious and merciful, Slow to anger, and of great kindness; And He relents from doing harm. Joel 2:13.
It does not matter race, color, social class when the bad time arrives in our lives does not discriminate who you are.
There are pains of illness, death, divorce, finances, loneliness, depression and many other things that happen to the human being regardless of culture, tradition or religion. Well, the enemy of souls is always attentive to attack at any moment.
Once a person asked me “if it is evil; the good must also exist, what you think? “Very good question, because my answer was” there has always been good, how you name it, I do not know, but I believe in a God of love and mercy which cares about us when we need him and the good thing is that He always wins the battles when we appeal to his presence. What happens is that the enemy of souls is jealous and annoyed because there is a God who gave his life on the cross of Calvary for you and for me, for what his love and mercy will always find in Him, forgiveness and he gives health to the soul. Then, we talked a little more about the subject, and he tells me that his little son has talked to him about God and he has been surprised since he has never taught him anything. Since then, he has believed that God is good and his love and mercy is with his family.
My dear friends, I do not know what answer you may give to that friend, but one thing I am sure that you have told him that goodness, kindness, mercy, and love have always existed so that evil overcomes. You know something, my dear friends, when you are in the middle of the storm you will never be alone and the mercy and love of God always reach you. I want to share with you this biblical passage that says in Joel 2: 21-27, where God reminds us of his mercy and love for his people no matter where you are from, who you are, and what you have done:
Fear not, O land; Be glad and rejoice, For the Lord has done [i]marvelous things! Do not be afraid, you beasts of the field; For the open pastures are springing up, And the tree bears its fruit; The fig tree and the vine yield their strength. Be glad then, you children of Zion, And rejoice in the Lord your God; For He has given you the [j]former rain faithfully, And He will cause the rain to come down for you—The former rain, And the latter rain in the first month. The threshing floors shall be full of wheat, And the vats shall overflow with new wine and oil. “So I will restore to you the years that the swarming [k]locust has eaten, The crawling locust, The consuming locust, And the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you. You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, And praise the name of the Lord your God, Who has dealt wondrously with you; And My people shall never be put to shame. Then you shall know that I am in the midst of Israel: I am the Lord your God And there is no other. My people shall never be put to shame.
Prayer: Open your heart
Lord Jesus, forgive me if I have failed you. Today, I am before your presence leaving all my burdens in you. I recognize that only in you can I reach your love and mercy. Thank you for your care and I know that everything will be fine. I can only wait in your processes. I trust that everything will soon pass and that I will never be ashamed. Amen.
