And when he had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp, and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of God’s people. Revelation 5: 8
We pray so many times that we wonder if God really listens to us or is it in vain. Many answered prayers and others waiting for a yes or no. The answers with a yes, we rejoice and celebrate. But, when a no arrive, we begin to question and ask like a child, why? We have cried, we have groaned in his presence and without knowing that He has a better tomorrow for us.
When reading this biblical portion in Revelation 5: 8 “And when he had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp, and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of God’s people.” I stop … and read again … and gold cups filled with incense. My mind woke up. And the Lord reminds us that no prayer is in vain, all of them are in golden cups and filled with incense. Gold cups where we all know the value of gold, which is a high price and the incense when burned fills the place with aroma.
No prayer goes unnoticed in the presence of God, they are deposited in a valuable container that is pleasing to the nose of our Lord. Perhaps many times we do not understand the no, but time teaches us that God always wants the best for his child, although now we do not understand it. Only our Jesus reminds us that nothing we ask is in vain and that every prayer, however simple it may be, is a pleasant aroma in his presence.
Prayer: Open your heart
Lord Jesus I am in front of your presence asking forgiveness if I have doubts at any time that you do not listen to me. I ask your forgiveness and that every prayer asking in your name will sooner or later be answered. Amen.
Friendly Advice
My dear friends, I know that it is not easy to pray. Many times, we despair in the process. We cry, moan, and even scream that we urgently need an answer. We try to listen to our voice and sometimes we wonder if it is our being or his presence. We get confused before the answering process. My dear friends, do not despair. Wait. Listen carefully through the quiet whistle, through his word, through your surroundings. The doors will open if it is a yes and if it is a no another door will open. Let’s not despair, because despair causes us to damage the process that God has for your life.
Pray, do not be discouraged.
