What is the truth?

Jesus said unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man come unto the Father, but by me (John 14:6).

Many times we have asked ourselves, what is the truth? Evaluating the scene of a court, there are many people who are interviewed among them are the person who is on trial, the witnesses, the lawyer, the prosecutor, the judge, the jury, among others. The time has come to take the stand, and the first thing they ask is, do you swear to tell the truth and the whole truth? And, you answer, yes, I swear.

By asking the question, all those who pass through the podium have sworn to tell their truth. But, in reality what is the truth since they all have different versions. There are some testimonies that coincide with the alleged fact, but still all have their own version of the facts. How can this be the truth? Well, each one of the witnesses was present but each one narrates the fact according to their lived experiences. The jury begins to deliberate, which is based on the truths of each individual. They cannot discriminate against any version. Only the fact that several testimonies coincide in certain events, is it then that they determine the truth of that situation.

Assessing this scenario with our lifestyle, each individual carries or tells their own truth. Believing or not believing depends on how true the information is. Sometimes we affirm with a yes or with a surprise really! Believing him is a matter of who says the information, because we were not present at the time the events occurred and we can only believe or not believe. All this confusion of what is the truth? It comes to my mind that there is only one truth: “Jesus said unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes to the Father, except through me” (John 14:6).

Prayer: Open your heart

Lord Jesus, forgive me if in my quest for truth I have sinned against you. Today, I want you to be my truth. I ask this in your name Jesus, Amen.

My dear friends, it is difficult to be in the midst of thoughts that confuse us. As people we think so many things and even in our thoughts we no longer know who to believe. But, today I tell you to listen to your heart; beats loudly, breathe, and meditate. Ask Jesus for direction and you will see what the truth is.
