Sleep

In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, O Lord will keep me safe. Psalm 4: 8.

We live so busily, full of both professional and personal work, and we walk alone thinking about how to solve all the things we face every day. Perhaps you think that time is not enough, that there is much to do, and we see everything impossible to solve. Moreover, with all this comes news that impacts your current condition, so it adds to the desire of the day that we cannot culminate. Difficult times, destroyed families, destroyed finances, illnesses, enemies, work full of so much stress, and so many other things that when night comes, we think that the day never ends.

The night it was made to rest. The night that was made to reflect. The night was made to remind us to thank God for everything. The night was made to share with your family after an arduous day of work. The night … But, nevertheless, we forget that the night was made with a purpose, and it is for sleeping and resting. Even God after hard work rested. It was created the heavens and the earth. It was also created the sun and the moon to remind us that the next day is another day.

My dear friends, it is time to put your burdens aside. Knowing that you alone cannot solve everything. Know that there are people waiting for you at home. Know that your enemy has no control over your life. Know that tomorrow is another day. And, that in your agenda there is more than work. We have to love each other, take care of ourselves and take care of others we love. That the enemy is won with smiles. That your current problem has a solution. But, above all, God reminds us to live to trust and lie down confident because He, your God, is in control of your whole life. “Put into the hands of God all your works and your projects will be fulfilled” (Proverbs 16: 3). Just place your trust in God. “So do not fear, because I am with you, do not be distressed, because I am your God, I will strengthen you and help you with my victorious right hand” (Isaiah 41:10). Just rest and sleep in Jesus.

Prayer: Open your heart

Today, my God I come before your presence asking forgiveness if I have failed you. Today, I thank you for reminding me that I can rest in you. That you give me new strength like the eagle, so I place all my trust in you, Jesus, because I know that everything has a solution when you are in control of my life. Amen.

Friendly Advice

My dear friends, I want to tell you that the day brings 24 hours. Therefore, the system, time, is designed for purposes. For what I advise:

  • Scheduled with your family a time to share and a time to attend a church as a family.
  • About work, there are moments to say I cannot. But, consider alternatives as there are other people who can help you with that task. Talk to your employer about requiring more time or some other resource that can help you with the task.
  • Remember to leave your homework at work once out of your workplace since that time is sacred with your family, friends, and especially with your physical and mental health.
  • Perform some type of exercise and, above all, eat well.
  • If you need any sleep medication, consult your doctor.
  • Relax, rest, and sleep because there is another day waiting for you.
  • Thank God every morning and every sunset.
